মওদুদীর কলম বলা যায় হাজ্জাজী কলম। নবী রাসূল থেকে নিয়ে হকপন্থীদের উপর যেমন তার কলম ছিল খরগ স্বরূপ, তেমনি কিছু বাতিলের বিরুদ্ধেও তার কলম ছিল সিদ্ধহস্ত। সে এতটাই বেপরোয়া এবং বেয়াদব ছিল যে, নবীদের সমালোচনা করতেও দ্বিধা করেনি। সাহাবায়ে কিরামতো তার কাছে কিছুই না। আর আল্লাহ তায়ালা এবং ফেরেস্তাদের সম্পর্কেও পোষণ করতো ভ্রান্ত আক্বিদা।

হযরত হুযাইফা রাঃ হতে বর্ণিত তিনি বলেন, আল্লাহর রাসুল সাঃ ইরশাদ করেন, কাপড়ের কারুকার্য যেমন মুছে ও অস্পষ্ট হয়ে যায় তদ্রূপ ইসলামও এক সময় অস্পষ্ট হয়ে যাবে । এমনকি লোকেরা এটাও অবগত থাকবে না যে, রোজা কি জিনিস এবং হজ্জ কি জিনিস । একটি রাত আসবে যখন অন্তর সমূহ হতে কুরআন তুলে নেওয়া হবে, এবং জমীনের উপর তার একটি আয়াতও বাকী থাকবে না । বিক্ষিপ্ত ভাবে কিছু বৃদ্ধ পুরুষ ও বৃদ্ধ মহিলা বাকী থাকবে, যারা বলবে যে, আমরা আমাদের মুরুব্বীদের নিকট হতে এই কালিমা “লা ইলাহা ইল্লাল্লাহ“ শুনেছিলাম, এজন্য আমরা এ কালিমা পড়ে থাকি । হযরত হুজাইফা রাঃ –এর ছাত্র সিলাহ ইবনে যুফার জানতে চাইলেন, যখন তারা রোজা, সদকা, হজ্জ, সম্বন্ধে জানবে না, তখন শুধু এই কালিমা তাদের কি ফায়দা দিবে ? হযরত হুজাইফা রাঃ কোন জবাব দিলেন না । তিনি তিন বার একই প্রশ্ন করলেন । প্রতিবারেই হযরত হুযাইফা রাঃ জওয়াব দেওয়া হতে বিরত রইলেন । তৃতীয়বার (পীড়াপীড়ি) করার পর তিনি বললেন, “হে সিলাহ! এই কালিমা-ই তাদেরকে দোযখ হতে নাজাত প্রদান করবে ।
