সামাজিক ওই গবেষণায় দেখা গেছে, সামাজিক যোগাযোগ মাধ্যম ফেসবুকে যখন একটি সুন্দরী নারীর ছবি পোস্ট করা হয়, তখন সঙ্গে সঙ্গে অসংখ্য লাইক পড়ে কিংবা কারণে-অকারণে নানা মন্তব্যে ভরে যায়। অন্যদিকে একটি রুচিসম্মত কিংবা শিক্ষামূলক লেখা পোস্ট করার পর অনেক সময় গড়িয়ে গেলেও তেমন উল্লেখযোগ্য লাইক কিংবা কমেন্ট করতে দেখা যায় না। গবেষকগণ সবদিক যাচাই করে বলছেন, এই ধরনের প্রবণতা যতোটা না নারীভক্তি থেকে আসে, তারচেয়ে বহুগুণে বেশি আসে নারীর সৌন্দর্য উপভোগে কামাসক্তি থেকে। আসল কথা হলো, এই প্রবণতা একটি দেশের অনৈতিক এবং কুরুচিপূর্ণ সংস্কৃতির বার্তা বহন করে। তারা বলছেন, পুরুষের এমন মানসিকতা দেশের যুবতী নারীদের জন্য যেমন সুখকর নয়, তেমনি সুষ্ঠু সংস্কৃতিরও অন্তরায়। - ...... ফেসবুক স্ট্যাটাস ঘাঁটলে আভাস পাওয়া যায় মানুষের চারিত্রিক বৈশিষ্টের। কেউ নিজের সম্পর্কে যখন ঢাক পেটাতে ব্যস্ত, তখন অন্য একদল অল্পেই সাংঘাতিক উত্তেজিত হয়ে আচমকা গাল পাড়েন। মনোবিদদের মতে, এর থেকে বোঝা যায় মানুষের ব্যক্তিত্বের বিকাশ।
ফেসবুক স্ট্যাটাসের ভিত্তিতে ব্যক্তিত্ব জরিপ করতে সম্প্রতি ৫৫৫ জন ইউজারের উপর অনলাইন সমীক্ষা চালায় লন্ডনের ব্রুনেল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়। সমীক্ষায় মূলত ৫টি চারিত্রিক বৈশিষ্টের উপর জোর দেওয়া হয়। বৈশিষ্টগুলি হলো বহির্মুখিতা, অকপটতা, সহমত পোষণের ক্ষমতা, বাতুলতা এবং নীতিপরায়ণতা তথা আত্মসমীক্ষা ও আত্মরতি। বিজ্ঞানীরা লক্ষ্য করেছেন, ফেসবুকে স্ট্যাটাস আপডেট করার সময় অজান্তেই আমরা নিজেদের চারিত্রিক লক্ষ্মণগুলি ফুটিয়ে তুলি। LINK

শিলং শহর ইংরেজ শাসনামলে সৃষ্টি হয় ১৮৬৪ সালে, আসাম প্রদেশের রাজধানী হিসেবে, মেঘালয় প্রদেশের রাজধানী হিসেবে নয়। সাবেক আসাম ভেঙে মেঘালয় প্রদেশ গঠিত হয়েছে ১৯৭২ সালের ২১ জানুয়ারি। সাবেক আসাম প্রদেশে ছিল আমাদের বর্তমান সিলেট বিভাগ। শিলং ছিল তারও রাজধানী। সিলেট থেকে বহু মানুষ নানা কাজে গিয়েছেন শিলংয়ে। সেখানে এখনো বাস করেন অনেক বাংলাভাষী মানুষ। এক সময়, ব্রিটিশ শাসনামলে তখনকার বাংলাদেশ থেকে শিলংয়ে বহু মানুষ গিয়েছেন হাওয়া বদল করতে, তাদের হৃতস্বাস্থ্য ফিরে পাওয়ার লক্ষ্যে। ব্রিটিশ শাসনামলে শিলংয়ে স্থাপিত হয়েছিল পাস্তুর ইনস্টিটিউট, যেখানে বহু মানুষ গিয়েছেন ক্ষ্যাপা কুকুর কামড়ালে চিকিৎসার জন্য। ঘটনা চক্রে সালাহউদ্দিন ধরা পড়েছেন পাস্তুর পুলিশ ফাঁড়িতে, যা পাস্তুর ইনস্টিটিউটের খুব কাছে অবস্থিত এবং যথেষ্ট পরিচিত জায়গা। শিলংয়ে গিয়েছেন অনেকে ছুটির আনন্দ উপভোগের লক্ষ্যে। শিলংয়ের প্রাকৃতিক দৃশ্য খুবই মনোরম। শিলং বাংলা সাহিত্যে স্থান করে নিতে পেরেছে রবীন্দ্রনাথের লেখা কাব্যিক উপন্যাস ‘শেষের কবিতা’র জন্য।  LINK
